Earth Care is partnering with Fair Vote New Mexico to engage our young people, families, and neighbors to participate in the upcoming local election and we're running a campaign to help equip folks with information about the new Ranked Choice voting system.

The City of Santa Fe will hold a regular municipal election on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, and we will be electing:

  1. A Mayor to a four-year term
  2. A City Councilor from District 1 to a four-year term
  3. A City Councilor from District 2 to a four-year term
  4. A City Councilor from District 3 to a four-year term
  5. A City Councilor from District 4 to a four-year term

ABSENTEE VOTING: Starts Tuesday January 30 - Friday March 2

You can send your absentee ballot in by mail. You can get an application for an absentee ballot from the City Clerks' Office OR by downloading an application online HERE. All applications for absentee ballots must be completed and accepted by the City Clerk prior to 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018. The City Clerk will accept completed absentee ballots delivered by mail, or in person by the voter casting the absentee ballot, their caregiver or the voter's immediate family, until 7:00 p.m. on March 6, 2018.

EARLY VOTING: Starts Wednesday February 14 - Friday March 2

You can vote at the following locations:

  • The City Clerk's office, 200 Lincoln Avenue, City Hall, Room 215, Monday - Friday during regular hours
  • Genoveva Chavez Community Center, 3221 Rodeo Road, Tuesday - Saturday during the early voting period from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except on Friday, March 2, 2018, voting will close at 5:00 p.m.  

ELECTION DAY - TUESDAY MARCH 6, 2018

Santa Fe Voters can go to any of the Voting Convenience Centers, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on March 6, 2018:

La Municipalidad de Santa Fe celebrará una elección ordinaria el martes 6 de marzo 2018, con el fin de elegir:

  1. Un Alcalde para toda la Municipalidad por un plazo de cuatro anos;
  2. Un Concejal de la Municipalidad del Distrito 1 por un plazo de cuatro años;
  3. Un Concejal de la Municipalidad del Distrito 2 por un plazo de cuatro años;
  4. Un Concejal de la Municipalidad del Distrito 3 por un plazo de cuatro años; y
  5. Un Concejal de la Municipalidad del Distrito 4 por un plazo de cuatro años.

VOTACIÓN EN AUSENCIA - martes, 30 de enero 2018el viernes, 2 de marzo 2018

Votación en ausencia por correo empezará el martes, 30 de enero 2018 y cerrará a las 5:00 p.m. el viernes, 2 de marzo 2018. Pueden emitir boletas en ausencia personalmente a partir del martes, 30 de enero 2018 hasta las 5:00 p.m. el viernes, 2 de marzo 2018. La votación en ausencia se llevará a cabo en la oficina de la Escribana de la Municipalidad, durante horas laborables y los días laborables, de lunes a viernes.  Solicitudes para obtener boleta en ausencia se puede obtener solamente de la oficina de la Escribana de la Municipalidad.  Todas las solicitudes para obtener boleta en ausencia tienen que completarse y aceptarse por la Escribana de la Municipalidad antes de las 5:00 p.m. el viernes, 2 de marzo 2018.   Después de las 5:00 p.m. el 2 de marzo 2018 todas las boletas en ausencia no usadas se destruirán públicamente por la Escribana de la Municipalidad.  La Escribana de la Municipalidad aceptará boletas en ausencia completadas entregadas por correo o personalmente por el votante que emita la boleta en ausencia,  su cuidador/a o un familiar cercano, hasta las 7:00 p.m. el 6 de marzo 2018.

Se puede obtener una solicitud de boleta electoral para votar en ausencia en la Oficina de la Escribana Municipal o haciendo clic AQUÍ https://www.santafenm.gov/application_for_absentee_ballot para descargar la solicitud. Se indican a continuación la dirección física, la dirección postal y los números de teléfono de la Oficina de la Escribana Municipal:

VOTACIÓN POR ANTICIPADO - miércoles, 14 de febrero 2018 - el viernes, 2 de marzo 2018.

La votación por anticipado se llevará a cabo en:

  • la oficina del Escribana de la  Municipalidad, durante horas laborables y los días laborables de lunes a viernes. 
  • Genoveva Chavez Community Center, 3221 Rodeo Road, entre las 9:00 a.m. el miércoles, 14 de febrero 2018 y las 5:00 p.m., el viernes, 2 de marzo 2018. La votación por anticipado, en este sitio, se llevará a cabo de martes a sábado, durante el período de votación por anticipado de 9:00 a.m. a 6:00 p.m., excepto el viernes, 2 de marzo 2018, la votación se cerrará a las 5:00 p.m.

Todas las solicitudes para boletas de anticipado tienen completarse y aceptarse por la Escribana de la Municipalidad antes de las 5:00 p.m. el viernes, 2 de marzo de 2018. Después de las 5:00 p.m. el día 2 de marzo 2018, todas las boletas de anticipado no usadas se destruirán públicamente por la Escribana de la Municipalidad.
